28th July 2010
Venue - Institute of Naval Medicine, Crescent Road, Alverstoke, Gosport, PO12 2DL
Start Time - 1400
Speaker - Matthew Marshall, Environmental Scientist, INM
In the event of a Ministry of Defence (MoD) aircraft crashing on land, or at sea, a process known as Aircraft Post Crash Management (APCM) is activated. Due to the hazardous nature of an incident site and the potential for environmental contamination, it is essential that Environmental & Occupational Health aspects are actively managed and controlled throughout the operation. The presentation by Matthew Marshall from the Institute of Naval Medicine will provide an overview of the MoD APCM process and explain the system used to manage Environmental & Occupational Health. Matthew has worked as an APCM Crash Response Officer for the past 11 years and is a member of several military and civilian policy and inter-operability committees.
